I'm the creative and brand head for this casual Italian eatery in Berkeley which will be expanding to more locations in the coming year. This is one of my favorite roles and I always look forward to working on any design projects they need. The brand is tied very closely to not only the owners' Italian heritage and personal taste, but embodies their values of handmade food, high quality ingredients, integrity and tradition. They want food to be the focus as well as to portray a vintage, traditional and stylish image. The look and feel harkens back to older shops in Italy as well as a "New York" vibe where 2 of the owners got their first taste of America.
Creating the brand with the owners from the very beginning has been one of the most exciting parts of this endeavor. Starting with the identity and continuing on to build and evolve the brand through all its touch points has been so fun. I've had the pleasure of creating and managing the brand via casabarotti.com, its online ordering shops, photography, copywriting, email campaigns [copy, design, marketing], labels/packaging, t-shirts + merchandise, menu, social media, etc.
And there's much more to come.
